Cornerstone Charitable Clinic addresses the need
for affordable primary and preventative health care by offering a range of
services. In 2010 the clinic developed a program that is called Cardio CAN.
This program includes multiple areas developed for the well-being of our patients. Services provided include treatment of non-emergency illnesses for adults who may suffer from high blood pressure, respiratory ailments, heart disease and diabetes. Routine labs (e.g., thyroid, CBC, A1C), radiology, and other scans are provided on a limited basis, as needed.
Services are provided by licensed physicians and nurses who volunteer their time at Cornerstone. All volunteer healthcare staff is covered by liability insurance. The clinic participates in the Federal Tort Claims Act and has met all guidelines to ensure the healthcare staff meets the highest standards and qualifications.
Cornerstone Charitable Clinic collaborates with several community organizations to provide the highest quality of care. One partnership is with Texas Health Resource and their Wellness for Life mobile unit. This mobile unit provides screenings for bone density, mammograms, cervical, and general health. The clinic also partners with University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) and UNT Health Science Center medical students.
In addition to primary medical care, specialists volunteer their services. These specialties include neurology, endocrinology, rheumatology, dermatology, radiology, gynecology, and ophthalmology. For more information about ophthalmology, please see the Cataract Clinic
Patients receive health evaluations for chronic illness and may be referred for education, healthy cooking, and fitness classes
at our facility. These classes are delivered by trained volunteers and professional staff. Nutritional Counseling
offers comprehensive information for patients regarding the importance of eating healthy meals, weight management and general health/wellness counseling.
