AstraZeneca Grant
Cornerstone received a $150,000 grant from AstraZeneca's HealthCare Foundation program, Connections for Cardiovascular Health, for the second consecutive year. This grant will support our Cardio Outreach program geared towards underserved, low-income residents of Tarrant County . Cardio Outreach is designed to include patients from our partner organizations, which will increase capacity and provide sustainable, comprehensive cardiac care to the poor and uninsured.

Bank of America Award
Cornerstone received one of two North Texas Neighborhood Excellence Awards from Bank of America for 2010. (Click here to watch the video about two of our NLC residents.) This two-year grant provides funding as well as leadership training for Cornerstone.

New Life Center

New Life Center The Promise House

the_new_life_center

The New Life Center offers 18 homeless men an opportunity to transition from homelessness to a new life. During their stay, all residents are provided the supportive services of case management and mentoring as well as spiritual, physical, emotional, and financial guidance. Residents must desire to make lasting changes in their lives, stay drug and alcohol free, and pursue their training/education while they live at the New Life Center.

There is no question that the New Life Center is making a difference in the lives of the men it serves. Approximately ninety percent of NLC residents have a history of substance abuse and about half a criminal background. Despite these seemingly overwhelming statistics, 73% of our current residents have been sober for over a year - several residents more than ten years! Most exciting in our eyes, we have several residents receive Christ every year! God is continually good and we are blessed to be a part of the work He is doing at the New Life Center.

Admission Requirements

  1. Potential resident must be documented as homeless (living in shelter, streets, car etc.) in Tarrant County.
  2. Must be drug and alcohol free.
  3. Potential clients may complete application and interview process every Monday morning at 9:30, no appointment is necessary.
