AstraZeneca Grant
Cornerstone received a $150,000 grant from AstraZeneca's HealthCare Foundation program, Connections for Cardiovascular Health, for the second consecutive year. This grant will support our Cardio Outreach program geared towards underserved, low-income residents of Tarrant County . Cardio Outreach is designed to include patients from our partner organizations, which will increase capacity and provide sustainable, comprehensive cardiac care to the poor and uninsured.

Bank of America Award
Cornerstone received one of two North Texas Neighborhood Excellence Awards from Bank of America for 2010. (Click here to watch the video about two of our NLC residents.) This two-year grant provides funding as well as leadership training for Cornerstone.

Cornerstone Transitional Housing Programs

Transitional Housing

TBLA family          TBLA picture

Cornerstone's Tennant Based Leasing Assistance (TBLA) program has been serving the homeless of Tarrant County since 1997. The 24-month program provides opportunities for homeless individuals and families to work toward self-sufficiency by receiving intensive case management services and transitional housing. While receiving scattered-site, income based housing assistance, participants work on increasing their earning potential through additional education and better employment, as well as being encouraged to grow emotionally and spiritually.

Qualifications for consideration:

  • Is currently living in a homeless shelter, an unsheltered situation (i.e. tent, car) or being evicted from a rental property and has no other housing resources
  • Has income (prefer employment income) and ability to increase earning potential
  • Head of household must be at least 18 years of age or older; families must have at least 1 child under the age of 17 living in the home
  • Be a family or single woman (25 openings for families, 2 openings for single women)
  • Drug and warrant free
  • Residing in Tarrant County
  • Desire to work hard to achieve self-sufficiency

Our housing program is currently full, but we are taking waiting list applications for families living in a local shelter or in an unsheltered situation.  For more information, please contact Lindsay (lwright@canetwork.org) at 817-632-6016.
